Recently, through continuous researches, Professor Shang Lu Qing, from College of Pharmacy, reveals the catalytic mechanism of coronavirus main proteinase, discussed the coronavirus MERS - CoV with SARS - CoV main protease in the process of catalytic difference, and then optimizes the biological activity of the main protease inhibitors. This work lays the foundation for future research in response to the mutation of the coronavirus and is intended to assist in the development of anti-novel coronavirus drugs. A paper describing the results was published in ACS Catalysis.
